Greenville PD officer cited for running red light in Monday a.m. accident

GREENVILLE, Pitt County - A Greenville Police officer has been cited for running a red light, which resulted in a crash at the intersection of Arlington and Greenville boulevards early Monday morning.

Greenville PD spokesperson Kristen Hunter told the Greenville Daily Reflector that the department's initial investigation shows Ofc. Kassandra Dykes ran a red light at approximately 3 a.m., colliding with a Dodge sedan that was traveling eastbound on Greenville Boulevard.

Dykes was transporting a civilian at the time of the crash. Neither Dykes nor her passenger nor the three occupants of the Dodge vehicle required transportation to a hospital for treatment.
