Greenville man arrested for armed robbery, drug charges
GREENVILLE, Pitt County - A Greenville man is under arrest, charged with an armed robbery that occurred on Friday, Pitt County Sheriff's Office officials say.
Ian Cox, 36, has been booked into the Pitt County Detention Center on a $103,000 secured bond on charges of armed robbery, assault by pointing a gun, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, 2nd degree trespassing and larceny.
The crime occurred around 11 p.m. Friday at a home in the 1900 block of Jackson Avenue in unincorporated Greenville. Report say the victim was standing in his yard when Cox allegedly walked up, pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded money, making off with $100.
According to reports, deputies responding to that address for an armed robbery call received a vehicle and suspect description and were able to stop a vehicle matching the description they were provided.
Cox was found to be inside the vehicle and was arrested. Following the arrest, officers found a pellet gun in his car and cocaine on him.
