GREENVILLE, Pitt County - A Greenville man is under arrest after allegedly firing at a car containing his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend.

Greenville Police spokesperson Kristen Hunter said 19-year-old J'Brian Moore is being charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging a weapon into property and possession of a stolen firearm. He was booked into the Pitt County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

The charges stem from an altercation Saturday night around 11:30, in which Moore allegedly witnessed his girlfriend getting out of a vehicle containing her ex-boyfriend. Moore told detectives he became enraged and once she got out of the car, he fired several shots at it along the 400 block of West 3rd Street.

No injuries were reported as a result of the shooting.

During the course of the investigation, GPD officers discovered the gun Moore allegedly fired had been reported stolen earlier this year.
