Greenville Little League team leaves for World Series

GREENVILLE, PItt County - The Greenville North State Little League team boarded a nus headed to Williamsport, PA, for the World Series on Saturday morning.

The bus was originally scheduled to leave at 6 a.m., but was delayed for over two hours. The players and their families didn't let that dampen their spirits.

The boys have spent the week enjoying appearances on national television and are loving the new fame.

"It's been pretty fun, " said cather Ashton Byers. "Being on TV, all my friends were calling me and following me on Instagram."

All in all, the team is thankful for the support of their community.

"The city of Greenville is backing us up on this," said center fielder Drew Fields. "Everybody back home and out there. It's crazy."

You can watch their first game on August 18th at 8 p.m., where they're set to take on the Midwest regional champions.
