Goldsboro police arrest two in connection with shots fired incident
GOLDSBORO, Wayne County - Two Goldsboro men have been arrested and charged in association with a shots fired incident over the weekend.
On Friday, October 20, at approximately 10:50 p.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert of seven rounds being fired in the 1200 block of Edgerton St. Once on scene, officers made contact with Mr. Dasunma and Mr. Hutchinson, who reported that while they were standing in the area, they became involved in a verbal altercation with some subjects who approached them in a grey Ford pickup truck.
The victims told officials that one of the unknown subjects pulled out a handgun and began shooting at them before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported during this incident, which occurred in front of 1207 Edgerton St.
On Saturday, October 21, at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers responded back to 1207 Edgerton St. in response to a suspicious vehicle and subjects at the victims' residence. The vehicle was located and a traffic stop was conducted in the 800 block of N Herman St.
Brandon Cobb and Charles Fryar were then contacted. Upon further investigation, officers determined Cobb and Fryar were the two subjects involved in the shots fired incident earlier in the night. Both were arrested and charged. Two firearms were seized from the vehicle.
Cobb, 23, has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, 2 counts of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of firearm by felon. He is being held on a $10,000 secure bond. His first court appearance is October 23.
Fryar, 25, has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, 2 counts of carrying a concealed weapon and no operator's license. He is being held on a $5,000 secure bond. His first court appearance is November 20.
