Funeral for slain Jones Co. mother held Friday
NEW BERN, Craven County - A funeral for the Pollocksville woman allegedly killed by her own son was scheduled for Friday in New Bern.
The body of 56-year-old Linda Hall was discovered last Thursday in her home.
Her son, Michael Cisco, is accused of killing her. Cisco is being held in Central Prison in Raleigh. He made his first appearance in court on Monday and is set to return to court in Jones County on Sept. 22.
Hall's funeral was scheduled for 2 p.m. at New Bern Church of God. The burial will be at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
According to an online obituary, Linda was employed at Grille Buddies in Pollocksville. She is survived by her husband Mat Hall; son Michael Cisco; granddaughters Chelsa Cisco and Harmony Minor; her siblings Donald L. Swindell, Donna Whitehurst, Mary Collins and Fay Jarman; and numerous nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, the family requests those wishing to make donations to Cotten Funeral Home to help with funeral costs. In a previous story we confirmed that Hall's son, Michael Wayne Cisco, who had been in the hospital with his own injuries, is now under arrest and charged with killing his own mother. On Sunday the 38-year-old was arrested for murder, according to Jones County Sheriff Danny Heath. Hall was found dead in her home on Thursday. Cisco was flown to Vidant Medical Center with life threatening injuries. Cisco lived in the home along the 300 block of Oliver Street with his mother, according to family members. According to court records, Cisco has a litany of prior criminal convictions, though mostly for drug and larceny charges.
