Football star Quinton Coples holds 6th annual football camp

KINSTON, Lenoir County - Football season is still a few months away, but Quinton Coples' skills camp is helping kids get better now.

Before being drafted 16th overall in the 2012 NFL Draft, Coples was just a kid from Kinston striving for greatness. When he was growing up, there were no NFL pros coming to Kinston to coach the kids. Now, at his 6th annual Quinton Coples Foundation Community Weekend, he wants to give back to the community that raised him. "I kind of wanted to set the tone and kinda get guys in the understanding that we have to keep helping each other, helping generation after generation," Coples says. "That way we can continue to produce and continue to keep kids off the streets." Coples created his foundation with the goal in mind of helping kids succeed both in football and in life. "Any kid that's in any type of unfortunate situation, i want to reach out and basically be a helping hand to them," Coples says. "The football camp is a big part of that." He says he was blessed to play in the NFL and plans to continue sharing that blessing with his community for years to come.

Coples says he'll be back next summer for another camp.
