Fire destroys Cove City mobile home
COVE CITY, Craven County —
A fire destroyed a mobile home in Cove City Saturday evening.
The fire started around 6 p.m. at 2691 Dover Road, according to Ira Whitford, Assistant Director of Craven County Emergency Services.
Number 9 Township Fire and Rescue, Fort Barnwell Fire Department, and New Bern Craven Rescue Squad responded.
It took around 2 hours to extinguish the fire.
According to Whitford, the fire was caused by an electrical malfunction.
No one was home at the time of the fire. However, Whitford said eight people lived in that home and are now displaced. The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
