Family of fallen soldier in Niger asks public to help honor his life

FAYETTEVILLE, Cumberland County - SSG Bryan Black who was killed in action in Niger on October 4 will be returning home to Fayetteville, North Carolina at around 6 p.m. on Monday, according to Jernigan Warren Funeral Home.

Friends and family of Black are asking the public to join them in honoring his life.

According to friends, a motorcade will be coming from Raleigh on I-95 and it will end on Ramsey Street.

A wake will be held October 17, 2017 from 6:00-9:00 PM at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville, NC.

A celebration of his life will be held October 18, 2017 at Northwood Temple Church in Fayetteville, NC at 2:00 PM.

They ask that anyone willing to show their support to line Ramsey street from Rowan and Grove Street to the funeral home.

If enough people attend, friends and family ask people to continue to line Grove and Ramsey Street all the way to the end of North Eastern Boulevard.

The obituary is public to anyone who wants to attend. Black will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday at 3 p.m.
