New Bern High School is hosting a two-day professional development opportunity for staff called The Craven Summit 2018.

Over 133 sessions in a matter of two days are filled with opportunities for educators to learn new and innovative ways to prepare students for the future. Some of the sessions included technology, teaching strategies, literacy and incorporating digital resources into the classroom. The summit also gives educators from around the country the chance to network with one another and share ideas.

"Me being a former high school teacher, I would have loved to have known what other chemistry teachers or physical science teachers are doing in the county," said Kristi Reed, Instructional Strategies Analyst for Craven County. "I have kids myself so I would like to know what are you guys doing in elementary schools that's working really well. It's a great chance for our teachers to collaborate with each other, learn from each other."
