Craven County Sheriff's Office issues warning about fake $100 bills

NEW BERN, Craven County - The Craven County Sheriff's Office is alerting businesses and residents about the possibility of fake $100 bills circulating in the area.

Money made for use in movies has been passing through the county recently. The bills look real (see above photo) but lack the interior strip and watermarks found on real $100 bills. The fake bills also say "For Motion Picture Use Only" on the upper right corner on the front of the bills and across the top of the back of the same bills.

If you spot one of these bills, call the Craven County Sheriff's Office at (252) 636-6643.
