Complaint leads to man's arrest for stolen firearm
GRANTSBORO, Pamlico County - A man has been arrested after stealing a firearm after a Pamlico County resident filed a complaint with the police.
On October 7, The Pamlico County Sheriff's Office responded to 15 Camping Road in Grantsboro, North Carolina in reference to the larceny of a firearm.
Officers arrived on scene and spoke to the complainant. The complainant told officials that a firearm and a piece of jewelry was removed from the residence.
An investigation led to the location of the stolen firearm and the identity of the suspect responsible.
Troy Allen Swindell Jr., 19, was arrested by investigators with the Pamlico County Sheriff's Office. The New Bern native was charged with larceny of a firearm and misdemeanor larceny.
Swindell was placed in the Pamlico County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond.
