Coast Guard rescues 70-year-old man on cruise ship off Cape Hatteras
CAPE HATTERAS, N.C. - A 70-year-old man was rescued from a cruise ship off the North Carolina coast on Tuesday.
The Coast Guard in Portsmouth, Va., received notification from the Royal Caribbean cruise ship around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday that a passenger was experiencing pain in his abdomen.
A Coast Guard MH-60 helicopter and C-130 Super Hercules aircraft were launched to 150 miles southeast of Cape Hatteras. The man was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
