Celebrate Dance Arts Theatre's 26th Season of The Nutcracker Ballet

The fairy tale ballet comes alive December 9th & 10th at Wright Auditorium on East Carolina University's campus.

Over the years, Dance Arts Theatre, accompanied by the Eastern Symphony Orchestra, has presented The Nutcracker Ballet to thousands of people all over eastern North Carolina. Due to its universal appeal to young and old alike the ballet has become a memorable holiday tradition for many families. Tchaikovsky's captivating score is brought to life in three breathtaking performances with beautiful hand-painted scenery and handmade costumes.

The cast consists of 125 local kids, and they are joined by principal dancers from the American Ballet Theatre, the San Francisco Ballet, and the Carolina Ballet. You will travel in time on an enchanting journey where Christmas trees grow, and magical dolls and toy soldiers come to life.

You'll see menacing mice, dancing snowflakes, and will be taken on an exciting adventure to the Land of the Sweets.

Net proceeds from this special event will be donated to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals to benefit James and Connie Maynard Children's Hospital at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Throughout the years, Dance Arts Theatre has contributed more than $165,000 to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. The tradition will continue this year. This is more than a ballet, it is kids helping kids. It is about a community coming together to make a difference. Come experience the magic of the season, reserve your seats today.
