Candidates for New Bern mayor hold public forum

NEW BERN, Craven County - The New Bern mayoral race is heating up with election day just two weeks away.

Thursday evening, voters got the chance to hear each candidate's plans for the city. Mayor Dana Outlaw along with challengers Lee Bettis and Ernie Williams talked before the members of the public who attended, fighting for one common objective ... your vote.

Their voices and viewpoints were heard loud and clear on several issues surrounding New Bern, from the opioid epidemic to recent flooding to racial equality. In the end, each candidate made the audience aware of who they were and what they want to do for the city and people of New Bern.
