RICHLANDS, Onslow County - Two young children are recovering after losing their mother in a fatal crash in Richlands Wednesday.

Twenty-year-old Autumn Sharp was killed in the single-vehicle accident where two of her three young children were in the car with her at the time.

Nearby resident Aaron Parker heard the crash near the intersection of Davis and Nine Mile roads and was able to get to the scene to help.

"I got the baby out of the car and the first thing she did was she smiled at me," Parker said. "...She was screaming at first and when I got in there I just told her it's gonna be okay. And I held her for a while until the ambulance came." Parker crawled through the broken glass to get to the infant out of the overturned car. "I, I teared up. I cried. It was uh, really bad to see something like that happen," Parker said. "I was thinking about my, my eight-month old baby girl Claire. And uh you know I uh hope anybody would have done the same thing."

Sharp was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The family has set up a GoFundMe account in an effort to raise $5,000 for funeral expenses.
