This weekend in Bridgeton is where you'll see blueberries ... lots and lots of blueberries.

The Bridgeton BlueberryFest celebrates all things blueberries. The blueberries are Bridgeton's claim to fame and despite the weather conditions and the less-than-stellar crop so far this season, nothing will stop the town from enjoying the delightful fruit and more at this weekend's event.

Things kick off Friday at 4:30 p.m. at Vernon Blades Park. Friday and Saturday, you and your family can enjoy all things blueberry, from baking contests, vendors and more. There will also be food trucks, live music and rides for the children.

"It's like the fruit for Bridgeton, that's what Bridgeton is mostly known for," said Sherri LaFever, coordinator of the festival. "Everybody's coming out to the Morris farm and the Nelson farm, and they're constantly picking."
