Bertie Co. Sheriff's Office seeking help in B&E case

WINDSOR, Bertie County - The Bertie County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help finding a man they said is responsible for breaking into a church in Lewiston.

Sheriff John Holley said Deandre Wiggins broke into Weeping Mary Church, located at 208 Weeping Mary Road in Lewiston, on Feb. 22. Det. Sgt. Harris Williams responded to the call and found the suspect made entry through the back door of the church.

Several items were taken including an orange igloo cooler, a small white refrigerator, two speakers, two floor mics and a PA system. Musical equipment including a guitar, an electronic video board, speakers and music stands were also taken.

Warrants were drawn up on Wiggins for breaking and entering. He also has warrants on file in Hertford County for felony possession of stolen property and felony obtaining property by false pretense.
