9/11 observances scheduled across eastern North Carolina
It's been 16 years since thousands lost their lives during the September 11 attacks. In honor and remembrance there will be events held through out Eastern North Carolina.
An event will be held at the courthouse noon. The event will include comments from survivors, local officials and military officials and more.
At ECU, an event called Design for Change will be held to promote positive change in rememberence of the attack.
The city of Havelock will host an observance in front of the police department starting at 8:30 a.m.
The Craven County Veteran's Council request the Craven County community observe a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. in remembrance of those that perished, their families, and love ones.
Memorial Service will be held a Pearson Park in Kinston on Monday, Sept. 11 at 10 a.m.
The annual community observance is planned for 8:15 AM at the 9/11 Memorial in the Lejeune Memorial Gardens.
