2nd man arrested in Kinston double homicide
KINSTON, Lenoir County - A second man has been arrested in connection with the May 31 double homicide at the Mitchell Wooten housing complex in Kinston.
Kinston Police arrested Nicholas Xavier Edwards, 18, at a home at 306 West Washington Avenue on Thursday afternoon. Edwards is charged with felony obstruction of justice and was booked into the Lenoir County Jail on a $75,000 secured bond.
Donald Girtley, Jr., an 18-year-old father and resident of Goldsboro and 23-year-old Kinston resident Demone Nesbitt were killed in the shootings. Kinston Police have arrested a 15-year-old male and charged him with murder in the deaths of Girtley and Nesbitt.
