15 firefighter/EMTs will be part of graduation ceremony on Wednesday

GREENVILLE, Pitt County - Greenville Fire/Rescue will have 15 fully-trained firefighters/EMT take part in a graduating ceremony on Wednesday at Pitt Community College.

The 15 cadets have been a part of the 10th annual academy the department has held in conjunction with PCC. Academy 10 is the most diverse group of cadets to graduate in the ten years the academy has been running, with five women and even more minorities. The graduation ceremony marks the end of a long journey for these men and women. The cadets have trained every week for the last six months, strengthening both their bodies and minds and gaining knowledge in the fire and EMS fields. Each cadet will graduate and be pinned Wednesday as a certified Firefighter Level II and EMT-Basic. The graduation will be at PCC's 169 Building Run from 1-3 p.m. The graduation is open to the public and all family members that wish to attend. Greenville Fire/Rescue's Honor Guard and Greenville Public Safety Pipes & Drums will be making an appearance at the graduation.
