Wayne County Sheriff's Office announces four separate arrests

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest Thursday of four men in separate cases.

Ahmad Shalom Gross of Seven Springs, Randy Ray Romfo Jr. of Dudley, Brock Remington Lanier of Goldsboro and Ressie James Lee, also of Goldsboro, were arrested and charged.

Below are press releases on those arrests.


As a result of an Investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, the following person has been arrested and charged as indicated below:

NAME: Ahmad Shalom Gross

ADDRESS: 102 Spring Crest Drive, Seven Springs, N. C.

AGE:18 Years of Age RACE/SEX: Black/ Male

CHARGE(S): Breaking & Entering a Motor Vehicle

Financial Transaction Card Theft

Financial Transaction Card Fraud

BOND: $10,000.00 Secured

ARRESTING OFFICER(S): Det. Sgt. Richard Farfour

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: A resident of the Rosewood Community reported a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim reported as stolen several financial transaction cards. Investigation into the breaking and entering and theft of the cards revealed the use of one of the cards at several locations. Investigation revealed the subject listed above was involved. Investigation is continuing and arrest are pending.


As a result of an investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, the following persons has been arrested and charged as indicated:

NAME: Randy Ray Romfo Jr.

ADDRESS: 321-A Mobile Circle, Dudley NC 28333


CHARGE(S) 1: Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury

BOND: $ 110,000.00

CASE OFFICER: Detective W. James Cornell

BRIEF NARRATIVE: On 02/10/2018 an assault occurred at 321 Mobile Circle that put the victim in the hospital with broken bones that had to be surgically repaired. The victim reported that he was checking on a suspicious at a neighbor’s house when he was suddenly approached by and assaulted by the defendant. The investigation has so far determined that the victim was assaulted with a blunt object and beat about the face. The victim was familiar with the assailant and identified him as the above listed suspect.


As the result of an investigation conducted by Wayne County Drug Unit the following person(s) has been arrested and charged as indicated:

NAME: Brock Remington Lanier

ADDRESS: 107 Red Oak Rd. Goldsboro, N.C.


CHARGES: Possession of Heroin, Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property, Assault PHY Inj. to Law Enforcement, Resisting Public Officer,


ASSISTING OFFICERS: Wayne County Investigations Division, DWI Task Force, Patrol A-Shift (SGT. Cantwell, Dep. Black)

Bond set at: 21,000.00 secured

On March 7, 2018, Detective Rhodes heard a call of a stolen motor vehicle that was in the area of William St. Detective Rhodes located the vehicle on William St turning onto Hooks River Rd. Detective Rhodes made a lawful traffic stop on the vehicle. While the Traffic stop was taking place LANIER fled on foot and was appended by Det. Rhodes and a physical altercation took placed. LANIER was then taken into custody. LANIER later that day was found to be in possession of Heroin. As a result of the investigation warrants were secured by the Wayne County Drug Unit, DWI Task Force and Patrol A Shift. The suspect was placed under a $21,000.00 secured bond and placed in the Wayne County Jail.


As a result of an investigation by the Wayne County Drug Unit the following person(s) has been arrested and charged as indicated:

NAME: Ressie James Lee

ADDRESS: 380 Mann Place, Goldsboro NC 27530


CHARGE(S): 1 COUNT: Trafficking Opiates

1 COUNT: Possession of Methamphetamine

1 COUNT: Possession of a Controlled Substance in Prison/Jail

BOND: $29,500 Secured

CASE OFFICER: Detective Brian Percise


BRIEF NARRATIVE: On March 6th, 2018 the Wayne County Drug Unit was contacted by the Wayne County Detention Center in reference to LEE being in possession of suspected illegal narcotics during the booking process. Once Detectives with the Drug Unit arrived to the jail, LEE was found to be in possession of 21 Lortab prescription pills and approximately 1 gram of methamphetamine. LEE was charged and left in the custody of the Wayne County Jail under a secured bond pending his initial court appearance.
