Washington man arrested on drug charges
WASHINGTON, Beaufort County —
A Washington man has been arrested on drug-related charges.
The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office reports Emanuel Da'jon Woolard, 25, of 311 Fleming Street in Washington was arrested on Feb. 28 by members of the Drug Unit. He was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting a public officer and driving while license revoked.
A traffic stop and search of his vehicle led to his arrest. Officials said there was a plastic baggie used to package a controlled substance in the driver’s floor board. Woolard tried to flee while being arrested and handcuffed, running a short distance before being caught. Woolard was then found with a plastic bag containing crack cocaine and a plastic bag containing marijuana that Woolard had attempted to discard.
Woolard was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.
