Three arrested on several drug charges

Three Onslow County men have been arrested and charged for distributing crystal meth in Onslow and Duplin counties.

Andrew Patrick Wright, 44, of Bailey Drive in Jacksonville was arrested along with Ebony Johnson, 30, of Hyatt Circle in Jacksonville and Robert Mabial, 43, of Merrin Heights Road in Jacksonville. Wright in in the Onslow County Detention Center under a $135,000 secured bond while Johnson and Mabial are in jail under $105,000 bonds each.

Three men have been arrested for distributing crystal methamphetamine in Onslow and Duplin Counties.

Onslow County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit and the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division conducted an investigation into a suspect transporting crystal meth into Onslow County. Also assisting in the investigation was the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.

During the investigation, Andrew Patrick Wright, 44 years old of Bailey Drive in Jacksonville was identified as a person of interest who was reportedly selling crystal meth in Onslow and Duplin Counties. It was also determined that Wright had outstanding warrants and on February 10, 2018, he was arrested during a traffic stop in Onslow County. K9 Blek was deployed to search the vehicle and alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics. Upon searching the vehicle after the K9’s alert, a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located.

Ebony Nigel Johnson and Robert Jean Mabial were in the vehicle with Wright and were also arrested.

Charges on each man are as follows:

Wright – Trafficking Methamphetamine by Possession; Trafficking Methamphetamine by Manufacturing; Trafficking Methamphetamine by Transportation; Conspiracy to Traffic Methamphetamine; Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Distribute Methamphetamine; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Felony Possession of Cocaine (outstanding warrant); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (outstanding warrant). He was transported to the Onslow County Detention Center under a $135,000 secured bond.

Ebony Johnson, 30 years old of Hyatt Circle, Jacksonville - Trafficking Methamphetamine by Possession; Trafficking Methamphetamine by Manufacturing; Trafficking Methamphetamine by Transportation; Conspiracy to Traffic Methamphetamine; Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Distribute Methamphetamine; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. BOND: $105,000 secured.

Robert Mabial, 43 years old of Merrin Height Road, Jacksonville - Trafficking Methamphetamine by Possession; Trafficking Methamphetamine by Manufacturing; Trafficking Methamphetamine by Transportation; Conspiracy to Traffic Methamphetamine; Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Distribute Methamphetamine; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. BOND: $105,000 secured.

Items seized during this investigation were a hard-shell pelican case containing approximately (5) ounces of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of around $15,000.00, $2,000 in U.S. currency, digital scales and a glass smoking pipe.

Sheriff Hans Miller said, “A cooperative effort between agencies with another good arrest. We will continue to expand our efforts and work closely with our fellow agencies and communities to stop the distribution of this poison in our county.”
