Three arrested in Beaufort County on drug charges
WASHINGTON, Beaufort County —
Three people were arrested in Beaufort County earlier this week on drug charges.
Shane Taylor, 26, of 306 Kelly Lane in Blounts Creek was arrested along with Michael Stocks, 28, and Elizabeth Stocks, 27, each of 160 Haddock Dr. in Vanceboro. Taylor was charged with trafficking in opium, sell and delivery of oxycodone a schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Michael and Elizabeth Stocks were each charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver oxycodone, a schedule II controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officials said in a press release their arrest stemmed from investigators receiving complaints that drug deals are occurring behind the gas station located at the intersection of Hwy. 17 and Hwy. 33 in Chocowinity. Investigators conducted surveillance and witnessed Taylor meet with Michael and Elizabeth Stocks behind the store. Investigators conducted vehicle stops on each, conducted a search and found oxycodone pills packaged for resale in small plastic baggies.
Taylor was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond. Michael Stocks was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond. Elizabeth Stocks was released under a $5,000 unsecured bond.
