Pitt County man charged with attempted murder
GREENVILLE, Pitt County —
A Pitt County man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder in an incident that happened Sunday.
Nehemiah Christopher Austin, 21, of 1834 Hop Tyson Road in Greenville, was charged. He was placed in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $1.5 million secured bond.
Deputies said they responded to the Night Train in reference to a shooting on Sunday. One person had been shot and had been transported to Vidant Medical Center. Deputies went to the hospital and checked on the victim's status. The victim was in surgery and is currently in serious condition.
After an investigation, deputies found Austin already in the detention center after he had been arrested on a revoked driver's license.
