A registered sex offender from New Bern has been brought up on child pornography charges.

Paul Vincent Turco, 25, of Grace Avenue, was charged with two felony counts second degree sexual exploitation of a minor and two felony counts third degree sexual exploitation of a minor after a Craven County Sheriff's Office investigation into child pornography.

"In August of 2017 Paul Turco was placed on probation for possession of child pornography and required to register as a sex offender," officials said in a press release. "In December of 2017 Officers with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety conducted a warrantless search of his residence and located suspicious search items on the computer Turco was using. A forensic examination was completed on the computer and child pornography was located."

Turco is currently being held in the Craven County Jail under a $200,000 secured bond.
