Jacksonville man wanted for death of daughter extradited back to N.C.
JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County - A Jacksonville man wanted in the murder of his child has been extradited back to Jacksonville from Connecticut.
Traquan Curtis, 21, was charged with an open count of murder after the death of his 9-month-old child. The charge came after Jacksonville Police responded to a call at 169 Village Drive in Jacksonville on Sept. 22 where police found the child dead.
On Dec. 14, Jacksonville Police requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and the Waterbury, Connecticut Police Department because officials believed Curtis was there. On Dec. 15, Curtis was apprehended without incident.
Curtis is being held at the Onslow County Jail under no bond.
