Grifton man facing drug charges after traffic stop
GRIFTON, Pitt County —
A Grifton man was arrested and is facing drug charges after a traffic stop by the Pitt County Sheriff's Office.
Anthony Marcell Sutton, 40, of 482 W. Hanrahan Rd. in Grifton is facing charges of trafficking in heroin and possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana. He was placed in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $275,000 bond.
Officials said they made a stop of Sutton's vehicle on Jacksontown Road in Grifton. Deputies located 8.5 grams of heroin on Sutton. Officials later reached a warrant to search Sutton's home. There they found an additional gram of heroin. The heroin and marijuana had a street value of $1,020.
