Fourth arrest made in Greenville child abuse, drug case

A fourth arrest was made in connection to a Greenville area child abuse and drug case.

Renee Arlene Greene, 55, was arrested on Monday for a slew of drug trafficking and child abuse charges. They include trafficking in cocaine, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling for the sale of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and multiple counts of misdemeanor child abuse.

Greene is the fourth arrest in a Greenville drug bust, where Pitt County Sheriff's Office officials with the Street Crimes Unit found $35,000 of cocaine inside a Northwest Acres home on February 23. Five young children under the age of ten were in the home at the time of the search -- Greene is their grandmother.

Ebony Greene, Ashley Henry and Maurice Greene are also facing charges in this case. All four are behind bars at the Pitt County Detention Center. Ebony, Ashley and Renee are facing a $1.5 million bond. Maurice is facing a $1.65 million bond -- an extra $150,000 for violating his parole.

A new arrest was made in connection to a Greenville area child abuse and drug case.

Maurice Greene, 29, was arrested on Wednesday. He was charged with the same offenses as Ashley Henry and Ebony Greene for his involvement in a Greenville case, where Pitt County Sheriff's Office officials with the Street Crimes Unit found $35,000 in cocaine inside Greene's home. Five young children were in the residence at the time officials searched the home on February 23.

Ebony Greene, 30, was arrested on the scene. She is facing three counts of misdemeanor child abuse, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, felony trafficking in cocaine and felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling for the sell of drugs.

Henry, 27, was taken into custody on March 6 by the U.S. Marshal's Violent Fugitive Task Force. She is charged with child abuse, trafficking cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a dwelling for drugs.

Both Greene and Henry face a $1.5 million secured bond at Pitt County Detention Center. Maurice Greene was also charged with felony probation violation, making his bond at $1.65 million.
