Accused drug trafficker arrested in James City

The Craven County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday afternoon it had arrested a man it believes was a significant drug trafficker in the area.

Investigative Sgt. Mike Sawyer said 41-year-old Darian Jaquan Harris, also known as JAB, was arrested Wednesday after a search warrant was served at a home he was in at the 600 block of Brown Drive in James City.

During the search, officers found trafficking levels of heroin and cocaine, along with a firearm.

Harris is charged with level three trafficking heroin, level two trafficking cocaine, felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver heroin, felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver cocaine, felony maintaining of a dwelling for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Craven County Jail on a $1 million bond.
