Tryon Palace, NC History Center play host to free Fourth activities
NEW BERN, Craven County - One of the biggest events Tuesday for Independence Day is being held at the Tryon Palace and adjacent North Carolina History Center for the Glorious Fourth.
The free event kicks off on the Tryon Palace grounds at 10 a.m. with a ton of activities, including a fife and drum concert, a live reading of the Declaration of Independence at 11 a.m. and free crafts for children of all ages.
Following a break between 2 and 5:30 p.m., the activities begin anew at the North Carolina History Center, with bounce houses and face painting for children, food trucks and Italian ice available to feed your food cravings, capped by a great viewing location for the city's fireworks show at 9:15.
