Free concert series returns to Fort Macon for 20th year
ATLANTIC BEACH, Carteret County - The free "Summer Sunshine" concert series returns to Fort Macon for its 20th season, kicking off on Friday with a performance from the Carteret Sunshine Band.
The "big band" brings a wide variety of musical influences and is composed of local musicians, music educators, students and graduates. Concertgoers can expect to hear show and pop tunes, movie themes, contemporary hit and patriotic anthems.
All concerts, which run from 6:30-8 p.m., are free, and Ft. Macon's sally port doors open early for picnickers.
No pets or alcohol are allowed.
