East Carolina University cancels Monday classes due to weather
GREENVILE, Pitt County - East Carolina University has canceled Monday's classes due to forecasted ice and snow predicted in that area, the school announced Friday.
Semester deadlines including registration, drop/add and bill payments will be adjusted, the school said in a press release.

Due to the forecasted ice and snow predicted for Greenville/Pitt County, East Carolina University officials have cancelled classes for Monday, Jan. 9. Semester deadlines including registration, drop/add and bill payments will be adjusted accordingly. A winter storm warning is in effect for Pitt County. The winter storm is expected to bring 2-4+ inches of snow/sleet to the Greenville area and greater than one-quarter-inch of freezing rain accumulations Friday evening through Saturday afternoon. The heaviest precipitation will occur from midnight tonight through early Saturday afternoon. Students should not travel to campus after dark Friday, Jan. 6 and avoid travel on Saturday. Road conditions may also be hazardous Sunday. It is imperative that you continue to be prepared for impacts from this storm across our area. The university will send an update by 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8 regarding classes on Tuesday, Jan. 10. The concert scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 7 at 3 p.m. is canceled. The concert originally scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday has been moved to Sunday, Jan. 8 at noon. The 3 p.m. concert on Sunday will take place as scheduled. For employees: Employees scheduled to work Saturday, Jan. 7 and Sunday, Jan. 8 should observe Condition 2 of the University Adverse Weather and Emergency Event policy. Supervisors may deem certain employees mandatory based on university needs.
