KINSTON, Lenoir County - Wednesday's rainout of the Down East Wood Ducks' Carolina League playoff game with Myrtle Beach was a double dose of bad news.

Game 1 of the series was washed out after heavy rains rolled into the Kinston area. The best-of-5 series is now a best-of-3 with Thursday's game at 6 p.m. at Grainger Stadium. The series then shifts to Myrtle Beach, S.C., where the Pelicans will now host the other two games, a doubleheader scheduled for Friday starting at 5:05 p.m. If a third game is needed, it will immediately follow.

Here's the schedule for the series:

-- Game 1: Myrtle Beach at Down East - Grainger Stadium - Kinston, Thursday, 6 p.m.

-- Game 2: Down East at Myrtle Beach - TicketReturn.Com Field - Myrtle Beach, S.C. - Friday, 5:05 p.m.

-- Game 3*: Down East at Myrtle Beach - TicketReturn.Com Field - Myrtle Beach, S.C. - Friday, 30 minutes after Game 2 (*If necessary)

The winner advances to the Carolina League championship series.

According to the Wood Ducks website, fans who attended Wednesday's game can exchange their tickets in-person at the team office or at the box office for new tickets for Thursday.
