Women arrested, man wanted for defrauding church

GOLDSBORO, Wayne County - A woman is under arrest a set for a Friday court appearance while a man remains on the loose in a case of defrauding an area church.

The Goldsboro Police Department says Tiffany Antsey and Adrian Holbrook were responsible for cashing a counterfeit check from the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Mount Olive on April 17 at a bank in Goldsboro. GPD says the pair manufactured and cashed checks made to look like they were from the church.

Antsey, 33, a Goldsboro resident, is being held in the Wayne County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond and is charged with uttering a forged instrument and obtaining property by false pretense. Holbrook, 26, also of Goldbsboro, is wanted for two counts of uttering a forged instrument, obtaining property by false pretense and attempting to obtain property by false pretense.
