Two arrested on marijuana, drug paraphernalia charges

GOLDSBORO, Wayne County - The Goldsboro/Wayne County Interagency Drug Task Force arrested two people on June 29 on drug charges.

Shonshi Ashmed Rangel, 29, of 304 S. Spence Ave. in Goldsboro was arrested along with Tykeem Q. Wooten, 29, of 509 Dail St. in Goldsboro. Both were charged with one count of possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were held under $5,000 secured bonds. The arrests came after officials responded to a drug complaint, which led to an investigation and vehicle stop of Rangel. When detectives approached the driver's window, an odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle. That led to a search and eventual arrest. Officials also observed Wooten stashing a white bag in the bushes. Detectives were given permission to conduct a search of the property and approximately 189 grams of marijuana, digitals scales other drug paraphernalia and a large sum of cash was seized.
