Chief Meteorologist Donnie Cox said there is the potential for strong to severe storms Friday night into Saturday. Downpours could produce some street flooding and poor drainage flooding, plus frequent lightning strikes and gusty damaging winds.

The SWAD will be all day Friday and will continue through at least part of the day Saturday. The meteorologists will evaluate the end time based on the progress of the cold front which will be coming through and bringing the storms.

The system is currently showing some signs of slowing, which could keep the showers and thunderstorms into the day Saturday.
