Severe Weather Alert Day in effect Wednesday
EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA - A Severe Weather Alert Day is in effect for Wednesday, according to StormTrack 12 Meteorologist Les Still.
A round of heavy storms is expected for late in the afternoon through early Thursday morning. Heavy downpours, damaging wind gusts and even an isolated tornado are possible between the hours of 5 p.m. Wednesday and 2 a.m. Thursday.
Mainly cloudy skies and warm and humid conditions are expected for the morning commute into early Wednesday afternoon. Temperatures are expected to range from upper 70s to near 80 degrees.
Stormy conditions clear out by Friday, making way for the Memorial Day weekend.
