Rounds of storms to impact Eastern North Carolina
EASTERN NORTH CARONLINA - Heavy downpours and wind gusts are expected through the Eastern North Carolina region through this afternoon.
We are tracking a cold front heading over the mountains, with warm and humid air in place over Eastern North Carolina, will fire up some Showers and thunderstorms.
We will see a couple rounds of storms develop through the afternoon. The first round of storms in the inland areas before they make their way to the coast.
Any of these developing storms could have brief-heavy downpours, a damaging wind gusts or hail measured at a half of an inch.
The greatest impact time will be late afternoon and evening. The storms will gradually diminish late tonight or after midnight. The coast may continue to see a shower chance for a few hours after midnight. The front will stall along the coast and continue shower and thundershower chances through tomorrow, causing potentially more storms east of Highway 17.
Storms should not be as strong Wednesday as what was are seeing this afternoon.
