Report: Kevin Motsinger to take over as football coach at WRH
WILMINGTON - Wallace-Rose Hill High School is expected to name former James Kenan and New Hanover football coach Kevin Motsinger as its next head football coach, Tim Hower of the Star News in Wilmington is reporting, according to several of his sources.
Motsinger revived a James Kenan program that was 1-10 one season before his arrival. He took the Tigers to a 10-3 record in his second season, 2004, and was 9-4 in 2005, his final season, before taking over at New Hanover. He stepped down from that position in 2015.

He has a 97-57 record in 12 seasons as a head football coach, including 24-14 at James Kenan.
The Star News reports the Duplin County School Board will hold its next meeting March 7 and is expected to approve the hiring of a coach. Athletic director Cory Lovelace told the newspaper the position is expected to be announced but didn't name Motsinger or any other coach.
Motsinger was an analyst for the "5th Quarter," a high school football show that was seen each Friday night on WWAY in Wilmington.
