National Guard Charity Baseball Game In Kinston Raises Money For Flood Victims

KINSTON - 25 National Guard members who helped with the flooding issues in Lenoir County, held a charity baseball game before they returned to their homes around the Carolina's. It was an impromptu game started by the guard members just to end their stay in a positive way. And ended with about 1,000 people sitting in the stands of Grainger Stadium watching and donating. It ended up with $2,100 dollars and lots of food donated to the Kinston/Lenoir United Way. Kinston native and Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Chris Hatcher donated several items that were raffeled off. The Minutemen beat the Guardsmen 5-4 in 7 innings.
