Goldsboro Police arrest third person in deadly armed robbery
GOLDSBORO, Wayne County - Goldsboro Police announced the arrest of a third person in a robbery that turned into murder.
Dearron Strickland, who was already in the Wayne County Detention Center on an unrelated probation violation, was charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery and accessory after the fact to murder. He was given a $50,000 secured bond in addition to a previous $50,000 secured bond. His first court appearance is Wednesday.
Goldsboro Police said Anthony Rhodes Barnes was arrested Oct. 28 and taken into custody. On Oct. 25, Kendall Price was arrested without incident
Robert Baymon, 60, of 516 Eason St. in Goldsboro, was robbed and assaulted early on Oct. 11 at his home. Officers located Baymon, who said two unknown people broke into his home and tried to rob him. A struggle ensued and he was shot twice.
Baymon was transported to Vidant Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition before he died.
