Deputies: Arrests yield stolen guns
NEW BERN, Craven County - A breaking-and-entering investigation in the Bridgeton area of Craven County resulted in the arrest of two men on firearms charges. Investigators are still looking for a third man. Deputies said they began their investigation July 15. They conducted a traffic stop in the Craven Terrace Housing Development in New Bern and recovered several weapons that were stolen from the home during the break-in. Investigators later performed searches of the suspects' residences and allegedly found more stolen weapons and property.
Deputies arrested William Lee Brown, 23, of 250 Keener Ave. lot 62. He's charged with five counts of larceny of a firearm, possession of stolen firearms, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felony breaking and entering and resisting arrest.
Thomas Christopher Perry, Jr., 23, of 250 Keener Ave. lot 16, is charged with five counts of larceny of a firearm, possession of stolen firearms, felony breaking and entering and possession of stolen property.
Investigators are still looking for Christopher Jones Matthews, 28, of 586 East Bridge St. in Bridgeton. He's wanted on several charges including larceny of a firearm and felony breaking and entering.
